A man has been remanded in prison custody for stabbing his own mother to death during a disagreement.
A 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Oniyide, has been remanded in prison custody by an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos State, for allegedly stabbing his mother to death.
The order was handed down by Chief Magistrate B.O Ope-Agbe, who said the accused should be remanded in Ikoyi Prisons, pending the release of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Oniyide who is facing a-count charge of murder, according to the prosecutor, Sergeant Jimah Iseghede, had allegedly committed the offence on February 5 at 3, Olubunmi Christopher Street, Abule-Egba area of the state, where he stabbed his mother, Mrs. Taiwo Oniyide, 50, to death with a kitchen knife following a disagreement.
The case has been adjourned to March 8, pending legal advice from the DPP.
