A 35-year-old ritual killer who murdered a 17-year-old hawker has confessed that he was paid a paltry N8K for the job.
Some situations make one wonder whether people still place any value on human lives; that has been the question on the lips of many after a 35-year-old man, Yewunu Tanlaju, was arrested for allegedly killing a 17-year-old hawker and sold her body parts for N8,000.
Tanlanju who was arrested by the police in Ogun State was said to have killed the teenager alongside two of his accomplices, cut off her head, hands, and removed her intestines which he sold to a native doctor for N8,000.
According to Punch Newspaper, Tanlaju had lured the girl who was hawking some snacks for her mother into an into a hideout at Arigo Ijofin in Ipokia Local Government Area of the state and murdered her.

When he was paraded with his partners in crime at the state Police Command headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta, Tanlaju allegedly confessed he was contracted to do the job for the paltry sum.
"I was given the sum of N8,000 as a contract job for the killing of the girl. It was Olusoji Asamo, the herbalist, who contracted the job to me,” he began.
Continuing, the killer said he overpowered the victim, tied her up and slaughtered her before going ahead to cut her into pieces.
"I slaughtered the girl, severed her head, and also dismembered vital parts of the body, which include private part, heart, intestines, and the two hands,” he said.
He revealed that he later dumped the remains inside a well and took the needed body parts to the herbalist.
Tanlaju also disclosed that the killing of the hawker was his second operation, adding that he was paid N10,000 for his first assignment.

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Ilyasu, said the arrest of Tanlaju and the two other, Olusoji Asamo and Joye Suru, followed a report by the father of the deceased to the police.
A very emotional CP Ilyasu vowed to make sure the suspects are prosecuted and get the full wrath of the law on them to serve as a deterrent to others like them.
