eLDee's concerns are not out of place in these times when the media focuses more on fluff than substance.
Sunday, in most parts of the world, is regarded as a holy day, a day of peace, relaxation, tranquillity and generally just chilling.
On Nigerian Twitter, Sunday is not the day for chill but rather it is the day shots are fired. It is has become the tradition that on the Sabbath, we all go on Twitter and fire tweet-bullets at anyone who is in our line of fire.
It usually starts like this, your timeline early in the morning is mostly filled with scripture-based tweets from babes and guys you know were fornicating last night.
Since you are not a saint yourself, you ignore the Holy tweets and keep scrolling. An hour later, someone maybe out of boredom or genuine interest on a particular topic drops a thread of his or her opinions (not facts) about it.
Opinions are controversial especially if it has to do with gender or cooking in this country. Predictably the hordes on Twitter aka the woke mafia will start foaming at the mouth, wailing, gnashing of teeth and lambasting the author of the tweets.
Yesterday, October 2, 2016, Nigerian rap legend eLDee the Don who is perhaps the most influential figure in Nigerian Hip-Hop composed a few tweets of wokeness that got a lot of people rattled and calling for his head.
So, eLDee who is the proud father of two girls said he doesn't want his daughters to be influenced by the lifestyle of women such as Amber Rose. According to him, TV is portraying women like her as role models and not shining a light on the likes of Lupita Nyong'O.

Hey, this is just the concern of a father who doesn't want his daughters to end up like Laurence Fishburne's daughter who ended up going into porn. I don't even think mothers want their daughters to be like that.
Shockingly (I'm being sarcastic), 'woke' Twitter didn't agree with eLDee. They bashed him for judging the lifestyle of others and also said he is a failed artiste (lol...these Twitter music heads can be silly) and also called him a hypocrite for having sexy ladies in his videos. eLDee wasn't even saying Amber Rose should stop sleeping with NBA stars, he is saying the media can do better.
Yes I agree, eLDee has had video vixens shake their money makers in his videos, but people change. With fatherhood, he is seeing things differently. Be afraid of a man or woman who doesn't grow and see life in new ways.
Somehow his tweets stirred up a hornet's nest and the woke clan started spewing confusing words such as fragile hyper-masculinity. This is a big trait of woke Twitter, they form words up to defend their arguments. They read so much that they fall off the intellectual cliff and are lost in a maze of ridiculous terms and theories.
Woke Twitter confuses me. Amber Rose can be proud to call herself a slut and you guys are happy, but when a man says she is a slut it becomes protest time. It seems that woke Twitter is not woke to the concept of double standards. I guess Rihanna hasn't sung about it.
Surprisingly, woke Twitter can rant about men all day and call them 'fuck boys' because they do not fit into their idea of an ideal partner, but when the tables are turned, they scream about being labelled. As my late grandfather in Ibadan used to say, "what is good for Greece is good for Uganda." If you can't take what you serve, don't step up at all.
If you bash a guy and call him a 'Yoruba demon' for sleeping around and breaking hearts, then what should you call a woman who does the same? Oh, I know the answer, "a woke savage" in Rihanna's voice.
Wokeness is one-sided and silly sometimes. No one has a problem with hoes, Jesus' great grandmother Rahab was a hoe but she flipped the script and her name is now in the Bible. Having sex is not a big deal, we were created to have sex. The question is what are you bringing to the table? Rahab helped the two spies and that's how Israel became a reality. She didn't give them lap dances. What are these faux celebrities bringing to the table and how are they affecting humanity?
All eLDee is asking is for the media to show more love to black women out there not twerking on the Instagram for money. All he wants is for TV to show women who are bringing something to the table.
If you are not woke to this then I guess you are sleeping. It's time to wake up.
