The fatal accident occurred due to the careless manoeuvring of a driver which led to an head-on collision of two vehicles.
Tragedy struck in Jigawa state as a salon car collided with an SUV on Hadejia-Kano road located at Kaugama Local Government Area of the state.
A spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamu Abdullahi, gave a statement in a report published by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Abdullahi mentioned that agents of the NSCDC assisted by removing the corpses of the accident victims to the hospital.
He said, "Our men were returning from Hadejia when the accidents happened and they assisted in rescuing survivors and taking those who died on the spot to a nearby hospital."
Also giving an account of the incident was Angus Ibezim, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), who expressed sadness concerning the deaths.
“We received a report about it and we are not happy about it", he said.
According to an eye witness who spoke to reporters, the accident occurred when a vehicle over took another in a dangerous manner, leading to a head-on collision by two others.
