Breaking up on social media

With our lives so much on social media these days, the art of breaking up is very much a thing in modern day relationships.

So things aren't going rosy in your relationship, and you have had it up to here with your boyfriend or girlfriend after several attempts to get it back on track.

Well, the next logical thing is for you to break up with the person. The only snag is that you do not know how to go about it, especially since you have been flaunting this person on your Instagram and Twitter.

Breaking up with someone face-to-face isn't a complete break up until you have broken up with the person on social media as well. If you are lost on how to this, these are the steps for you.

1) Unfollow

The first step in breaking up with someone on social media is to unfollow the person on all your social media accounts, Instagram, SnapChat and Twitter. Since it is over why should you be wasting precious data reading his/her tweets, seeing photos of your now ex-lover and watching boring snap videos? It's game over from here on. Don't be afraid to unfollow and start life afresh.

2) Delete all online evidence

After unfollowing, the next step is to delete every evidence of your past relationship online. Delete every photo you took with your former lover online. Go back and search for them and delete them all, both on Instagram and Twitter. Also, every tweet of his or hers that you have liked, delete them. All the photos you have liked on Instagram, find them and unlike.

3) Sending subs

Hey, after unfollowing you have to start taking shots at your ex. Start with a tweet, then continue to send more shots his or her way on Twitter. On Instagram, share photos with captions that send subliminal shots. No sub is too low.

4) Dragging time

After sending subs don't hold back. It is time to be petty. Blast your ex on Twitter, and reveal all the dirty details about the relationship. Do it for the bants and memes. This is why social media was created, for as to have fun at the plight of others. Go further and post screen shots of past convos and arguments.

5) Post motivational messages

This is the aftermath of the breakup. Start posting tweets and photos about self-love being the best form of love.
