The 30th anniversary of the annual Lagos International Trade fair sets to kick off Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan Lagos from November 4 – 6, 2016.
The 2016 edition themed “Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth.” will be declared open by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari.
The event will feature series of dialogue sessions on various sectors of the economy, facilitated by eminent speakers from the both private and public sectors of the economy. It would also feature an essay writing competition for Secondary School students across Lagos state to evaluate the knowledge of the younger generation to nitty gritty of the Trade Fair.
The corporate Fair for big corporations and foreign exhibitors who are interested in networking and business matchmaking at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos from November 7 -11, 2016.
In addition, the Lagos International Trade Fair would be hosting an International Investment Conference at the Eko Hotels and Suites on November 8- 9, 2016. The aim of this segment of the conference is to create a platform for local and foreign investors as well as economic experts to discuss ways of making investments sustainable in various sectors.
Over the last five years, the Lagos trade fair has recorded over 500,000 visitors within the 10-day period of the event, an average of 2,000 exhibitors, over 200 foreign exhibitors from more than 15 countries.
The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be partnering with Federal and State security agencies such as the Anti-Bomb Squad, Nigerian Police force and Anti-Terrorist Squad. The Fairground would be under a 24 hours CCTV surveillance.
The 2016 Fair will feature an improved approach to space allocation, air-conditioned Marquee Tents of 2,250 square meters, adequate signages to enhance identification of sectors by exhibitors, customer service centers, Business-to-Business meeting rooms
The Lagos International Trade Fair team would be collaborating with various public sector organisations in various key areas to improve exhibitors and visitors experience.
These organisations include; Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Immigration service, the Nigerian Police force, Federal Road Safety Commission, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, Lagos State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority [LASTMA]
The team would also be collaborating with hospitality and transportation companies to ease visitors access to the Fair.
