A young man has been sentenced to receive three strokes of cane over a two count charge of criminal breach of trust and cheating.
A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to three strokes of the cane by a Gudu Upper Area Court for selling his employer's puppy.

The Upper Area court judge, Umar Kagarko, gave the sentence on Thursday, September 22, warning the accused, Kingsley Natty, to desist from such act.
Kagarko revealed that the light sentence was decided upon because the accused pled guilty and appealed for leniency.
Natty pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The court heard that one Okoye Franklin of Harmony Estate, Wumba village, reported the case at Apo Police Station on Tuesday, September 6.
The Prosecutor, Donatus Abah, said that the complainant had entrusted his three dogs to the convict in 2015 to be raised with a monthly payment of N5,000.
According to the prosecutor, one of the three dogs was delivered of three puppies one of which was hidden by Natty, pretending that only two puppies were born.

Natty was later caught selling one of the puppies after which, he was arrested. The prosecutor said the crime contravened sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
