In Lagos: 1 death recorded as petrol tanker falls on car

The deceased was in the crushed vehicle when the fuel tanker fell.

The driver of a Hyundai Saloon Car was in the vehicle when a fuel tanker fell on it leaving him dead.

A petrol tanker belonging to Forte Oil has reportedly killed a driver who was in car while the fuel laden vehicle was trying to negotiate a round-about in Ikorodu, Lagos.

This was confirmed by the Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA), who were quick to arrive the scene following a distress call on an emergency number.

According to reports, the truck with registration number AGL 664 XG was carrying 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit as it fell on a Hyundai Saloon Car with registration number KJA 421 AH.

Other emergency and security agencies such as Lagos State Fire Service, LASTMA, Civil Defense, FRSC and Nigeria Police were also on hand to keep things at minimum damage.

However, the body of the man who died in the accident has been deposited at the Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, Adesina Tiamiyu, the General Manager, LASEMA has revealed that proper investigation is undergoing to determine the cause of the death.
