An Hausa man earning his living as a Suya seller has been murdered in Cross River State by hoodlums who robbed him.
A 35-year-old man who was making a living by selling roasted 'Suya' (a spicy skewered meat which is a popular delicacy in Nigeria), has been robbed and murdered by unknown men said to be hoodlums in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, Calabar News reports.

It was gathered that the deceased, Habibu Maude, an indigene of Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, and a father of four, had been operating his Suya spot at White House Street, for many years and was very friendly with the residents of the area including those living in the Bogobiri area, a quarter populated by the Hausa community in the state.
Reports have it that Maude was at his Suya spot when the attackers visited him and asked him to hand over all the money in his possession, which he did without any argument but after robbing him, they shot him at point blank range and he died before help could come his way.
