The Kenyan ex-military officer who stabbed his girlfriend to death says she decided to dump him after he had spent all his money on her.
Maxwell Ochieng Okoth, the Kenyan former military officer who stabbed his 22-year-old lover, Edinas Nyainda, to death because she had told him she wanted to end the relationship, has given his reasons for taking the decision to kill the fresh graduate of the Kenyatta University.

According to Nairobi News, the 30-year-old Okoth said he was angry that after spending all his money on Nyainda, even collecting a loan running into millions of Shillings, to sponsor her through school, she still had the guts to dump him for another man after her graduation.
Okoth who went into business after he retired from the military, was said to have stabbed the victim several times before turning the knife on himself but survived the apparent suicide attempt.
He allegedly told police interrogators that in 2014, he took a loan of KSh1.8 million from Family Bank Githurai branch, and with the money, he paid three years rent in Kahawa Wendani as well school fees for the girl for the remaining semesters, also setting aside a hefty amount for her wardrobe as well as applied for a Nakumatt shoppers card so that she could go shopping anytime she wanted.

But just one week after her graduation, Nyainda decided to end the relationship because she had fallen in love with another man, causing him to go berserk and stab her to death.
