Child Hero Empowerment: Children development workshop

Child Development Workshop

After a successful maiden edition of CHEC's Child Development Workshop last month at the Friends of Jesus Orphanage Ajah, Lagos, this month, the Child Hero Empowerment Team will be embracing the Pacelli School for the blind and partially sighted, Surulere, Lagos .

On the 24th of June, 2016 (Friday) CHEC will hold her monthly workshop tailored towards skill building, and empowering the less-privileged children towards self-discovery of purpose through tutoring/mentoring sessions.

The eyes are the most beautiful part of the human body; they help us see the world as it is. Every day, as we bat our lids to the splendor of a new dawn, it is definitely a privilege, especially for the fact that not all enjoy such natural exercise.

However, for the vicissitudes of human existence some don’t exactly need to see the world through their eyes, they learn to do so with their minds!

This month’s workshop seeks to help blind children build their self-confidence, become more independent and creative with their minds, and empower them towards their dreams, hence the theme ‘seeing beyond normal vision’.

The team would also be privileged to reach out to a wide population of primary school children, one hundred and thirty-five in number, who though without sight, are all blessed with beautiful VISION!

Interestingly, as a special appearance at the workshop is Israel Etim who even though blind, is a successful radio producer, blogger and CEO of ShowTime Naija. He would also be empowering the children with his words.
