A worried girl needs advice

46% of Pulse Nigeria Poll voters say they will not hesitate to resign from a job if the boss is harassing them sexually.

Janet is in trouble as her boss has been tormenting her life and harassing her sexually right from the first day she resumed work in an audit firm. He wants to sleep with her at all cost but she is afraid of reporting him to the management as her job could be at stake.

So what should she do?

Read her letter here:

"My name is Janet and I am compelled to call the attention of the public to what I am going through in my place of work with my randy boss sexually harassing me every other day.

I am 26-years-old and I work with an audit firm. It is a good job and the pay is just okay for me as a single lady but the problem I have is that my married boss is making life difficult for me.

Right from my first week on the job, Mr. Adenekan made it clear to me that he wanted me to be his sex mate though he did not come out openly to state that but as a woman, I know when a man is lusting after you.

He would complement my hair, my dressing and took every opportunity to touch me in suggestive ways. At first, I did not see them as anything but later, he was so brazen that it was embarrassing. After my first month, Mr. Adenekan called me to his office and openly told me he wanted to date me but I told him I had a fiancé and did not want to go into an office relationship.

Since then, he has made life a living hell for me as he picks on me at every point in time. Anything I do is not satisfactory for him as he keeps insulting me and calling me names in the presence of other staff members. But when we are together, he would apologize and tell me it is because I am frustrating him.

One day, he actually tried to rape me in his office but I just managed to escape. I have confided in two of my best friends and they say I should give in to him so that I could enjoy some perks of the office but my conscience would not allow me.

I am thinking of reporting him to the management but no one would believe me because Mr. Adenekan is a top management staff and they would not mind sacking me and keeping him. I can't go through the pains of joblessness I experienced for four years after my graduation.

Janet."

The teaser for the day was:

What would you do if your boss harasses you sexually?
