A suspected robber was given the beating of his life this morning by an angry crowd in Lagos.
But for the intervention of some elders who insisted otherwise, a suspected armed robber would have been lynched to death in Lagos early this morning after he was caught when he and members of his gang stormed the NHIS building along Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, to rob.

Luck however ran out on the suspect when he was caught while his members managed to escape. According to eyewitnesses, the man was stripped naked, beaten to a pulp and the angry mob was getting set to set him on fire when some elderly people pleaded with them that the suspect should be handed over to the police.
