A housemaid is in serious trouble after some fake spiritualists hypnotized her into stealing her bosses' jewellery worth N11 million.
Promise Mbagu, a 20-year-old housemaid, has been arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrates' Court 1, sitting in Lagos State, after a man who paraded himself as a spiritualist who wanted to deliver her from evil attacks, hypnotized her into stealing of her employers' jewellery worth a whopping N11 million.

According to the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, Inspector Austin Imagbe, Mbagu, who lived with her employers, Mr and Mrs Owolabi Awosan, at 7B, Durosimi Etti, Lekki Phase 1, was said to have been given a free hand by her masters and had access into their private rooms as well as travelling with the family outside the country for holidays and other businesses.
She was arrested and detained at Maroko Police Station before her case was transferred to State Anti-Robbery Squad formation in Ikeja, where upon investigation, Mbagu narrated how she was accosted on her way to Oshodi by a three-man gang who told her she had spiritual problem implanted in her face, chest and abdomen.
The trio who are still at large, allegedly told Mbagu that she had a certain spiritual problem and that they would make her to push out a stone through her private part.
She further narrated that true to their words, they took her to a residence where, after a magical performance, Mbagu ejected a stone-like substance from her private part.
She agreed with the fraudsters that she had spiritual problems and was then asked to go back to the house of her employer and bring all the money and valuables she could lay hands upon to pay for her exorcism.

The unsuspecting lady went back to her boss's house and stole two diamond wrist watches and two golden chains worth N11 million naira and after handing the items to the fraudsters, they allegedly fled. The wool was lifted off her eyes when her boss reported the matter at the Maroko station.
Upon arraignment, the magistrate, Mrs. Y.O Aje-Afunwa, granted Mbagu bail in the sum of N700,0000, with two sureties and verifiable addresses, while she adjourned the case till 20th, July, 2016.
