A jealous woman in Ghana has been arrested after she threw her rival's new baby into a pit toilet.
A Ghanaian woman, Mariama Bashiru, has been arrested by the Bole District Police Division, for allegedly throwing her ex-boyfriend's two-weeks-old baby into a pit toilet because she was angry that he left her after he got another woman pregnant.

Daily Graphics report that Bashiru, had sneaked into her ex-boyfriend's home and took the baby while mother had stepped out, picked him and threw him into the toilet.
The Bole District Police Commander, ASP Eric Awiadem, said the mother of the late baby, left him briefly in the care of some children but when she came back, she could not find him again.

"The complainant, who is the mother of the deceased, left the baby boy in the care of other children in her room. When she returned, the baby was nowhere to be found. A search was conducted and the baby was found in the pit of a public toilet.
The baby's mother suspected her former rival that she might have done that because she had been coming to the house to confront her former boyfriend on certain issues.
She has been picked up and is in our custody and she has confessed. We are investigating the case," ASP Awiadem said.
