In Lagos: Two brothers remanded in jail for battering church ushers during service

The ensuing fracas which reportedly left two ushers brutally battered and injured, has seen the two suspects arrested and charged before an Isolo Magistrate's court over assault charges.

News reports have revealed a fight which had reportedly broken out between two brothers and church ushers who had been trying to enforce the church rules on indecent dressing during a Sunday service.

The incident which involved two brothers identified as Chisom Alamduru and Victor Alamduru had reportedly taken place at a popular church in Isolo, Lagos state.

The ensuing fracas which reportedly left two ushers brutally battered and injured, has seen the two suspects arrested and charged before an Isolo Magistrate's court over assault charges.

P.M News reports that the fracas had temporarily disorganized the service before the church security had subdued Chisom and Victor, revealing that the victims identified as, Emmanuel Ndukwe and Okechukwu Olomeforo had suffered their fate after they had prevented the duo from entering the church during the service.

The reports further reveal that the suspects had gone to church on that fateful day wearing clothes the ushers considered inappropriate for the service causing them to prevent the suspects from entering the church which had led to an exchange of words and subsequently, a fight.

Chisom and Victor are reported to have told the ushers that the church did not belong to them, adding that the ushers were not in the position to determine what they can or cannot wear to the service.

Considering the degree of the injuries sustained by the victims, the brothers were reportedly handed over to the police at the Aswani divison at Isolo, and have now been charged to court over charges of conspiracy and assault under the Criminal code to which they pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adedayo reportedly granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with one sureties in like sum, remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending the perfection of their bail condition.
