The late Olomo may have died from a different type of illness as the nature of his death seems more than meets the eyes

A lecturer from the Delta State University, Professor Richard Olomo has been reported dead after a long battle with Typhoid Fever though comments surrounding his death suggests it might be a bit more.

According to Punch, Olomo, who is the Head of Department Geography/Regional planning of the University fell ill shortly after  the National University Commission (NUC) accreditation team visited the institution in July 2015.

He was rushed to University Health Centre at site 3 for Medication, before being taken to  the State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) Oghara for further treatment.

The  University Vice Chancellor, Professor Victor Peretemode believes the late lecturer died of a strange illness, stating that all the efforts made to restore his health proved abortive.

“We tried our best to save him from the diagnosed typhoid fever to no avail, I think the sickness was strange and not ordinary typhoid fever,” Peretemode said.

It was gathered that the late Olomo battled the illness for almost a year before eventually giving up the ghost.
