To all our teeming and loyal fans, who have been waiting ceaselessly for the Gulder Ultimate Search 2015 ‘Season 12’, we hereby say sorry for bringing the news late as we’ve been made to understand that the Nigerian Breweries brand, Gulder had scraped the reality show and replaced it with ‘The Ultimate Promo (Ultimate Chase)’.
The reality Television programme, tagged ‘Gulder Ultimate Search’ (GUS), which was first premiered in 2004, have produced 11 winners as the ‘Ultimate Men’, claiming huge rewards, after triumphing in a quest that includes struggling against nature and finding a hidden treasure.
While many have been waiting for the challenge to kick off this year, report emerged that the organisers of the GUS had scrapped and replaced it with the — ‘Ultimate Promo (Ultimate Chase)’.
The brand, also stated that they are working on reaching their consumers directly, and this was something they couldn’t do with the ‘Ultimate Search’ as only some particular set of people were reached, leaving out their prospective consumers.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Yemi Blaq and Illrymz were unveiled as the new Gulder Ambassadors in Enugu during the launch of the new show.
On Why Gulder Ultimate Search Failed:
– At some point in time, Industry watchers complained that some Gulder Ambassadors (Ultimate Men) failed in their responsibility, which is to promote the brand.
– Some even left the brand to patronise its competitors. Some other winners only remain relevant within the first year of their reign as the ‘Ultimate Men’.
– It was believed that all these added to the brand’s decision to introduce the new show and the signing of new Ambassadors.

Unlike GUS where there is always one man standing to claim the cash prize and a car, Gulder Ultimate Promo/Chase is giving out 15 Hyundai cars and instant cash prizes to their consumers.
Nevertheless, it is not too late as the Ultimate Chase runs from September – November.
