World Pr Media is pleased to announce that our firs press conference for
the much awaited Ben Television Entertainment Awards was held on Tuesday
the 23rd of September at the Oriental Hotel.
The event which was set to commence at 10am was delayed to accommodate
members of the press from key media houses that were held up due to the
wonderful rain that morning .
The event commenced with an introduction of the individuals on the g
High table which included a line up of the Legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt (to
provide his perspective on the entertainment industry as a whole), May7ven
( a UK based Afro-beats act), Mr Larry Ijaola (Regional Director for Ben
Tv), Femi Amusan (Head of THe Entertainment Division for Ben Tv), our
Chief Executive, Mrs Tayo Afolabi and Mr Lucky Odion (Project Manager for
Ben Tv).
Once introductions were made, Mrs Afolabi proceeded to apologize for the
late start prior to reading her statement about the Ben Tv brand and the
launch of the Entertainment Awards. She said, " Ben Tv is finally taking
an overdue step, practicing what they preach by "bridging the gap" with
their first ever entertainment Awards on the 23rd of November 2014 at the
Oriental Hotel".
Other members of the panel proceeded to give brief statements supporting
the notion with more light being shed on the nomination process and the
high lights of the event. When asked about the scope of reach of Ben Tv in
the Uk, the question was tackled by the Regional Director himself and he
was proud to announce that the TV station reaches approximately
13 Million homes in Europe a week.
DJ Jimmy Jatt left no stone unturned by adding to the uniqueness of the
voting process. We will all be pleased to note that this special awards
board has been dispatching for the last few weeks, the various categories
to industry watchers like OAPs, and recognised DJ's in the industry.
Once the industry watchers send back their nominees for each category, The board of Ben Tv Entertainment
Awards Committee - Dj jimmy Jatt, Olisa, Kaylah Oniwo, Dj Abass and Baba Nee - will then create (in an open manner) the final list of eventual winners. The
list will be published on the Ben television awards website at
www.bentvawards.com , fans will then have an opportunity to nominate the
best individual for the categories.
World Pr Media is also pleased to announce that Zaron will be the official
beauty company of this years awards with lots of fabulous gifts for our
special guests and also our red carpet promises nothing short of glam
delight as we showcase this gorgeous beauty brand on the "Glam Lounge".
The event host is no other than AY who will be supported by the Chief
Announcer of the event, the gorgeous Kaylah Oniwo from Cool Fm.
Entertainment on the day is a package of surprises but we will however
reveal that Choc City will be exhibiting the talents of its formidable
artists. In a statement about their participation, the Chocolate City CEO
said, " Ben Tv has been a major driving force for the growth and
penetration of Naija music generically referred to as Afro Beat for over
one years and this award is long overdue. We are happy to partner with a
brand that has made not just West Africa proud but the whole continent as
well".
On that note , in the words of a very wise man, we say, congratulations to
the Ben Tv Team for what we believe is the beginning of a new era.
